Difficulty : Easy ( Equipment : Milk pan )
Ingredients :
1 tsp of tea leaves ( Assam / Darjeeling leaves )
1 cup of milk ( semi-skimmed milk or almond milk can be used as well )
1/2 cup of water
1 clove of whole cardamon
A pinch of saffron ( high quality one sourced from India )
A small piece of ginger
1 tsp of coconut sugar ( natural sugar, alternative to white processed sugar )
Method :
1.Boil the milk and water in a pan. Add the leaves when it starts to simmer. Leave it for 5 mins
2.Smash the cardamon and ginger so they split into tiny pieces. Add them to the pan and let it simmer for 5 mins.
3. Add the sugar, cover the chai with a lid and let it simmer for another 2 mins.
4, Its time to serve. Pour the chai in a cup, sprinkle some saffron on the top and enjoy 🙂
